Damage in the Kitchen

Are you in Paris now?! I know there are many great restaurants and bistros in Paris but before your French vacation is over you need to try this place.

Des Gars dans la Cuisine

Des Gars dans la Cuisine is a play on words and mean both “two guys in the kitchen” and also “damage”. What will be damaged is your view on food. The Gourmet Chef’s Gil Rosinha and Jean-Jacques Delaval are super creative and although France won’t disappoint you with its many great French restaurants this one will shake you up a bit more.

Des Gars dans la Cuisine

The look is modern and clean and the place is bubbly and fun. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and most importantly the place is very affordable. Reservations are a must and Des Gars dans la Cuisine is open for lunch and dinner and Sunday brunch.

From Gazpacho to a funky Chicken dish to the homemade dessert every dish is a hit. Not only that but creative and unique.
As I said make a reservation and don’t leave France without eating here.

Bar Meats Grill

Landmark Grill

This place is fun.
Combine Chicago bar scene with fine dining and you get Landmark Grill. The restaurant was designed to hold parties and get the big crowds in. It has two floors and three kitchens with a fabulous second floor walk way almost hanging right over the bar.

Landmark Grill

The upstairs is my personal favorite with leopard print chairs and light fixtures, elegant wall paper, unfinished wood and a young and knowledgeable wait staff. The downstairs is also hip with vinyl booths, funky bar and a high ceiling revealing the second floor.

The food is wonderful and the chef responsible for it is Giuseppe Tentori. He based the food around a brick oven and a hard wood grill making sure the flavors of his dishes do not lack a single thing. People love the pizzas here and on Wednesdays they’re half off. I love a lot of the selections here but top on my list is the beet salad and the roasted pork chops. OK I also love the ribs and New York steak but what can you do when the menu was prepped by a 2008 Food & Wine Best New Chef winner.

Landmark Grill

The location is great because you’re in a college area and theatre so the whole neighborhood is very lively. Need a birthday idea? This place is it since it combines the bar scene and eatery but don’t expect the clubby table service here. Creative vodka drinks and witty martini recipes will get your birthday boy or girl going. The kitchen is open late so keep the party going. All that's missing is the House DJ.
